Todd Baker
Watching his family navigate the overwhelming financial and medical decisions surrounding his grandfather’s battle with Parkinson’s disease inspired Todd to pursue a career helping others achieve clarity and confidence in retirement. Today, as co-founder and wealth manager at Legacy Capital Planners, LLC, he provides thoughtful financial guidance designed to reduce stress and help clients make informed decisions about their future. Todd firmly believes that “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care,” a philosophy that continues to shape the way he serves clients and leads his team each day.
As co-founder, Todd actively leads the firm’s strategic direction and oversees day-to-day operations. He works closely with his team to ensure a high level of service, operational efficiency and a consistent client experience across the organization. At the same time, he remains deeply committed to servicing clients personally by developing tailored financial plans, implementing tax-efficient strategies and building reliable income solutions designed to support a long-term retirement.
Todd also serves as a managing partner and owner of Milestone Asset Management, LLC, an SEC-registered investment adviser, where he helps oversee the firm’s long-term vision, advisor development and client planning initiatives. In addition, he sits on Milestone’s Investment Committee, helping guide portfolio strategy, investment research and long-term asset allocation decisions for the firm and its clients.
He also serves as President and instructor for The Prepare Institute, a nationwide nonprofit focused on helping adults make informed financial decisions through practical, real-world financial education. With over 28 years of experience as a financial planner, Todd holds life and health insurance licenses and has passed the Series 65 securities exam. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Widener University, and his industry insights have been featured on Fox News, Yahoo Business and News Channel 8. His expertise in tax-efficient retirement planning and income strategy design helps clients maximize and enjoy their hard-earned assets with confidence.
Todd and his wife, Danielle, live in Adamstown with their three children, Gavin, Landon and Payton, who keep the family busy year-round with soccer, football, cheerleading and basketball. They also share their home with two dogs, Moose and Bella. Outside the office, Todd enjoys coaching youth sports, spending quality time with family and friends, and pursuing hobbies including cooking, fishing and traveling. Todd and his son Gavin also share a passion for sports card collecting, enjoying the memories, history and excitement that come with building their collection together.
Michael D. Ausherman Jr.
Michael Ausherman is a Co Founder and Financial Advisor at Legacy Capital Planners and brings over 25 years of experience advising individuals and families on complex wealth, retirement, and income planning decisions. His approach is grounded in delivering clear, disciplined strategies that help clients move forward with confidence, particularly as they transition into and through retirement.
He also serves as a Principal and Chief Compliance Officer of Milestone Asset Management, an SEC registered investment advisor managing over $725 million in assets. He helps guide the firm’s strategic direction while maintaining a strong commitment to fiduciary excellence.
Michael holds a degree in Economics from the University of Maryland and has earned the Chartered Financial Consultant ChFC® and Chartered Life Underwriter CLU® designations through The American College of Financial Services, reflecting advanced training in investment, insurance, tax, and estate planning.
He also serves as Treasurer and an instructor for The Prepare Institute, a nationwide nonprofit dedicated to delivering real world financial literacy education to adults.
Michael lives in Urbana, Maryland with his wife, Gina, and their children, Emily and Matthew. Emily is a competitive dancer with Urbana Dance Studio and is on the Pom team at Urbana High School, and Matthew plays basketball and competes on a travel lacrosse team. The family spends much of their time at dance competitions and on the lacrosse field and basketball court. Outside of work, Michael enjoys cooking and following Maryland lacrosse, basketball, and football.
Patrick Reinheimer

Known for his warm personality and high level of attentiveness, Patrick believes strong relationships are the foundation of great financial planning. In addition to working closely with clients, Patrick also teaches retirement planning courses focused on empowering individuals through practical, real-world financial education.
Before joining the firm in 2019, Patrick’s professional background included roles in banking, technology sales and home remodeling consulting, experiences that strengthened his communication skills and client-first mindset. He studied finance and economics at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, holds a life and health insurance license, has passed the Series 65 securities exam and earned the Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®) designation.
Patrick lives in Germantown, Maryland, with his wife, Himani, their son, Arniko, and their dog, Lucy. Outside the office, he enjoys practicing martial arts, playing bass guitar and spending quality time with his family.
Austin Catania
After witnessing firsthand how financial uncertainty can impact families, Austin Catania developed a passion for helping people gain clarity, confidence and peace of mind in their financial lives. As a Wealth Manager at Legacy Capital Planners, he is committed to building meaningful, long-term relationships and guiding clients through important financial decisions with a caring and personalized approach.
Austin specializes in retirement planning, investment management, tax-efficient strategies and retirement income planning. Before joining Legacy Capital Planners, Austin worked in a family office serving high-net-worth families and later as a senior paraplanner, helping develop detailed retirement and tax-focused financial plans. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (B.S.B.A.) in Financial Planning from Liberty University in an accelerated three-year program. Austin holds his Series 65 license, is licensed in life and health insurance, and is actively pursuing the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP®) designation.
Austin resides in Boonsboro, Maryland, near his hometown of Middletown. Outside of the office, he enjoys traveling, exploring national parks and riding motorcycles. A longtime musician, he also plays drums and serves on the worship team at his church, where he enjoys giving back to his community and spending time with family and friends.
Tracy Halsey
Tracy Halsey is often one of the first voices clients hear and one of the first faces they see when connecting with the team, and she takes tremendous pride in making every interaction feel personal, welcoming and meaningful. As Director of First Impressions, Tracy plays a vital role in delivering the high-touch client experience the firm is known for, helping ensure that every family receives exceptional care, clear communication and attentive follow-through throughout every stage of the relationship.
With a natural ability to connect with people and a genuine passion for helping others, Tracy works closely with clients and advisors to coordinate meetings, appointments, client events and day-to-day service needs with professionalism, warmth and attention to detail. Whether assisting with account service requests, withdrawal processing, estate documentation, client correspondence or simply taking the time to answer questions and provide reassurance, Tracy approaches every interaction with empathy, urgency and a commitment to making clients feel cared for and valued.
Known for her excellent communication skills, responsiveness and thoughtful follow-up, Tracy helps create the family-oriented atmosphere that clients consistently appreciate about the firm. Before joining the firm in 2020, Tracy worked as an executive assistant in the hospitality industry, where she developed a strong foundation in client service, organization and relationship management. A lifelong Maryland resident, Tracy grew up in Kensington and has lived in Gaithersburg for more than 25 years. She and her fiancé, Steve, share a blended family of five children — Cameron, Katelyn, Emma, Noah and Ryan — along with their two dogs, Buddy and King. Outside the office, Tracy enjoys spending time with family and friends, relaxing outdoors on sunny days, meeting new people and traveling whenever she can, especially to her favorite beach destinations.
Brian Steyer
A proud veteran, Brian is dedicated to serving the everyday needs of clients and supporting advisors in delivering high-quality financial guidance. He works closely with advisors to help build comprehensive financial plans for clients, provides ongoing client service and support, manages distribution and RMD requests, delivers technical support to clients, and assists with account servicing and operational coordination across the firm.
In addition to his client service and planning responsibilities, Brian also serves as Director of Trading for Milestone Asset Management, LLC, where he oversees trading operations and works closely with the advisory team to help ensure efficient portfolio implementation and ongoing account management for clients. Brian brings the same discipline, focus, and attention to detail from his military service to both his operational and trading responsibilities within the firm.
Brian served in the United States Army as an infantryman in the 101st Airborne Division. His journey into the financial industry began in the health insurance field. He earned a degree in biotechnology and holds life, health, and annuity insurance licenses.
Brian grew up in Montgomery County, Maryland, and currently lives in Frederick. Outside of the office, Brian enjoys traveling and going to amusement parks with his daughter, Isabella. A big fan of Washington sports teams, Brian also enjoys grilling out and staying active by playing recreational baseball, basketball, and pickleball.
